Time (free writing)

WOW! How times flies. Where ever is the time going? It seems like there is always something to do. It seemed like yesterday that I started this page. Life happened and I took a break from writing. I guess their was no time. It has been a very challenging and busy time. I guess, we have to make time with our busy schedules to write. I think writing is like Therapy in a way. When you write you get to get things out that you have inside. The best part is you get to share it with others like yourself, who may or may not identify with you. Time the clock keeps ticking away we are almost into the New Year.

Getting ready for 2014. Wondering will I have time to do all this writing. I sure hope so! Looking forward to a wonderful year ahead. Time Time Time sometimes wish time would just stand still for a moment so I could just breathe enjoy the moment just a little more. What to do? Time is something that keeps moving whether we like it or not. The clock keeps ticking. That is why we must realize that life is short and make the best of the time we have now. No one is promised tomorrow. Take the time to think about that. Enjoy the moments. That is all we have! Enjoy the time we have now. Tommorow is not promomised and yesterday has passed.

Happy Navaratri 2011

What Is Navaratri?

The beginning of spring and the beginning of autumn are two very important junctions of climatic and solar influence. These two periods are taken as sacred opportunities for the worship of the Divine Mother. The dates of the festival are determined according to the lunar calendar.

Navaratri represents celebration of Goddess Durga, the manifestation of Deity in form of Shakti [Energy or Power]. The Navaratri festival or ‘Nine Nights festival’ becomes ‘ten days festival’ with the addition of the last day, Vijayadashami which is its culmination. On all these ten days, the various forms of Mother Mahisasura-mardini (Durga) are worshipped with fervor and devotion.

Start Living Your Life Today

How many times do we think of this world? How many times do we see this world in a negative light? The media always talking about the negatives of this world. Seeing and hearing so many negative things going on in this world. Really shapes our thinking. After a while we start thinking negative as a result. We lose our faith.

The things in this world can bring us all down. Things going wrong all over the world. Not knowing what the future looks like for us. We have to learn to write the story of our life. We are the ones designing our lives. We have to learn the ways of not letting the negative things enter our way of thinking and continue to carry on. One thing we have power in is our life.

We have the power to create the changes we want in our lives. It is up to us to start painting. Painting the portrait of our life. What do you see, What do you want, and Where do you want to go. Start thinking, start writing, and start doing. Start living your life today.

EIGHT CLUES TO HAPPINESS

EIGHT CLUES TO HAPPINESS
By- KHUSHWANT SINGH

Having lived a reasonably contented life, I was musing over what a person should strive for to achieve happiness. I drew up a list of a few essentials which I put forward for the reader's appraisal.

1) First and foremost is GOOD HEALTH. If you do not enjoy good health you can never be happy. Any ailment, however trivial will deduct from your happiness.

2) Second, a HEALTHY BANK BALANCE. It need not run into cores but should be enough to provide for creature comforts and something to spare for recreation, like eating out, going to the pictures, traveling or going on holidays on the hills or by the sea. Shortage of money can be only demoralizing. Living on credit or borrowing is demeaning and lowers one in one's own eyes.

3) Third, a HOME OF YOUR OWN. Rented premises can never give you the snug feeling of a nest which is yours for keeps that a home provides: if it has a garden space, all the better. Plant your own trees and flowers, see them grow and blossom, cultivate a sense of kinship with them.

4) Fourth, an UNDERSTANDING COMPANION, be it your spouse or a friend. If there are too many misunderstandings, they will rob you of your peace of mind. It is better to be divorced than to bicker all the time.

5) Fifth, LACK OF ENVY towards those who have done better than you in life; risen higher, made more money, or earned more fame. Envy can be very corroding; avoid comparing yourself with others.

6) Sixth, DO NOT ALLOW OTHER PEOPLE to descend on you for gun-shup. By the time you get rid of them, you will feel exhausted and poisoned by their gossip-mongering.

7) Seventh, CULTIVATE SOME HOBBIES which can bring you a sense of fulfillment, such as gardening, reading, writing, painting, playing or listening to music. Going to clubs or parties to get free drinks or to meet celebrities is criminal waste of time.

8) Eight, every morning and evening, devote 15 minutes to INTROSPECTION. In the morning, 10 minutes should be spent on stilling the mind and then five in listing things you have to do that day. In the evening, five minutes to still the mind again, and ten to go over what you had undertaken to do.

Nathaniel Cotton (1721-1788) summed up my views on the subject in one verse:

If solid happiness we prize Within our breast this jewel lies. And they are fools who roam The World has nothing to bestow From our own selves our joys must flow And that dear hut, our home.

THE BEST OF THE BEST YOU!

You are the person
who has to decide
whether you'll do it,
or toss it aside.

You are the person
who makes up
your mind
whether you'll lead or linger behind.

Whether you'll try
for a goal that is far or be contented
to stay where you are.

Take it or leave it,
there's something to do
Just think it over
It's all up to you!

"A moment to still our minds, stop what we're doing to appreciate the silence and perhaps collectively breathe"

Something like that. What do you think?

Would you participate if the whole world would would pray at the same time on the same day for a minute 60 seconds of your day for world peace?

Would you be able and willing to pray at the same time with the whole world?

Imagine what positive energy it would bring to this world today? Which needs positive energy.

Well, please let me know what you think about this concept. I am working on talking to other people about this and coming up with a date to do this. Would love your participation and thoughts on this matter.
Thanks!
